Islamic Studies One-Month Program, Manchester

About this program

This program aims to enhance our understanding of Islamic teachings using revelational, philosophical and theological proofs and arguments. Graduates will be awarded a course completion certificate and an opportunity to visit Iran.
Sheikh Mohammad Pakdin will teach the four moduals of this one-month program at the Manchester Islamic Center.

Requirements

  • Registration in the program and joining the Google Classroom 
  • Attendance in the classes 
  • Participance in discussions and doing the assignments on Google Classroom. 
  • Taking the final exams of the modules 
  • Studying the required pages of the books before attending the Book Club sessions.

Structure of the program

Taught Courses: Sheikh Pakdin will give lectures on the two following modules:
1. Islamic Plan for Life
2. Selected Discussions of Tafsir al-Mizan
And after each lecture there will be some time for questions and discussions. The link to the recorded lectures will be provided on the Google Classroom.

Book Club: The following books will be studies under the supervision of Sheikh Pakdin:
1. Lessons on knowing the Holy Qur'an
2. Islam and the Contemporary Man
Students are required to read the selected pages before participation in each session and they will be expected to share their thoughts on the content or raise question which can help a better understanding of the content.

Classes will be held on Saturdays and Sundays, starting from 11 May to 2 June, 2024.

Saturdays
Islamic Plan for Life (taught), 10 am to 11:15 am
Lessons on Knowing the Qur'an (book club), 11:45 am to 1:00 pm

Sundays
Selected Discussions of al-Mizan (taught course), 10 am to 11:15 am.
Islam and the Contemporary Man (Book Club), 11:45 am to 1:00 pm.
