Glasgow Intensive Summer Program

About this program

This program aims to enhance our understanding of Islamic teachings using revelational, philosophical and theological proofs and arguments. Graduates will be awarded a course completion certificate and an opportunity to visit Iran.
Sheikh Mohammad Pakdin will teach the two modules of this intensive program at the Ahl al-Bait Society Scotland Centre.

Requirements

  • Registration in the program. Tuition fees for each module is £5. You should be over 16 years old to register in this program.
  • Joining the Google Classroom 
  • Attendance in the classes 
  • Participance in discussions and doing the assignments on Google Classroom. 
  • Taking the final exams of the modules 
  • Studying the required pages of the books before attending the Book Club sessions.

Structure of the program

Taught Courses: Sheikh Pakdin will give lectures on the following module:
  • Islamic Plan for Life (selected discussions of Individual and Social Ethics from the first and second units of Islamic Plan for Life)
And after each lecture there will be some time for questions and discussions. The link to the recorded lectures will be provided on the Google Classroom.

Book Club: The following book will be studies under the supervision of Sheikh Pakdin:
  • Lessons on knowing the Holy Qur'an
Students are required to read the selected pages before participation in each session and they will be expected to share their thoughts on the content or raise question which can help a better understanding of the content.

Timetable of the program

Classes will be held on Saturdays and Sundays, starting from 27 June to 6 July, 2024.

Odd days
Islamic Plan for Life (taught course), 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm (starting from Thursday, 27 June).

Even days
Lessons on Knowing the Qur'an (book club), 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm.

Awards

Certificate of Completion for the graduates and a trip to Iran for the participants in our educational programs

About the tip

It is a 10-night trip to visit Iran from 10th -20th of August, 2024. The trip would include visiting religious and academic sites in Mashhad and Qum and meeting esteemed Shi'a scholars. During your stay, there will be some lectures on different aspects of Islamic life and Social Wilayah.

Eligibility

Those who register in the Islamic Studies program will also be eligible to register this trip. Every participant can register for his/her family, including parents, spouse, children. Late registration will be considered.
